How can you put a text mesh pro under a 2d sprite mask?

Is it possible to mask a text mesh pro(not UI) in a 2d sprite(also not UI)?

(Without it being just a rectangle, the sprite has a specific shape)

I have a 2d sprite(which is not on canvas, since it's not UI it's a 3d gameobject) And a 3d text mesh pro
